The I²C (Inter-Integrated Circuit) bus is a three-wires bus used internally at the media cards for communication between different chips. While the bus is not visible to the Linux Kernel, drivers need to send and receive commands via the bus. The Linux Kernel driver abstraction has support to implement different drivers. The ADV/ADV have a bit video input port that can be configured in a variety of ways. SD RGB input is supported. All members of the family support embedded EAV/SAV timing codes, external video synchronization signals, and the I 2 C communication protocol. Applications. Hi, I use the IMX6 with toradex apalis main board. I make a host card to use ADV on the LCD interface. I use the linux kernel for imx6 here. If the device shows up with "i2cdetect -y 1", the ADV Linux driver should work fine. At least with the changes you've done so far: 1. enable the driver in Linux kconfig. 2. add the entry to the device-tree. Without ADV and ADV, we are able to see output on HDMI port. But if we add both chips, we are not able to see any output on the display. ADV and ADV chips are detected by the Linux successfully.
